As a Certified Family Law Specialist, Derrick is experienced in handling a wide range of complex family law issues and specializes in high-asset divorces, which typically involve self-employed individuals, close corporations, business valuations, and executive compensation. In addition to his expertise in family law matters, Derrick brings clients years of experience accounting for billion-dollar hedge funds, as well as prior experience litigating criminal cases. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the CCCBA Family Law Section.
Family law matters can be difficult and emotional; Derrick prioritizes guiding cases to resolution as quickly as possible with sound strategy, strong advocacy, and efficiency so you can move on and enjoy life. Some will find the best option for their situation is mediation; Derrick is also trained and experienced in acting as a neutral mediator, where he assists both parties in achieving formal, final settlement agreements.
Prior to launching Roehn Law Offices LLP, Derrick practiced law at two prestigious family law firms in the East Bay: The Law Offices of Joseph Wolch, and previously the Law Offices of Peter G. Loewenstein.
Derrick earned his bachelor’s degree from University of California, Santa Barbara with a major Business Economics and a minor in Global Peace and Security, and his law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. When not litigating cases, Derrick enjoys hiking with his dog in the East Bay hills, playing pick-up basketball, and watching Premier League soccer matches.

Kim began her career as an attorney in litigation, defending individual and corporate clients in complex personal injury, construction defect, and real property cases. As state and local rent regulations become increasingly complicated, Kim's practice expanded to address a growing need.
Kim now focuses on advising landlords and property managers in navigating the rent control laws and rent board proceedings that impact property management and profitability.
In addition, Kim is an accomplished legal writer and utilizes her skills to draft legal documents, motions, and effective persuasive materials for the firm's clients.
Kim is a Bay Area native and attended Miramonte High School in Orinda before attending UC Santa Barbara, where she earned undergraduate degrees in Communication and Professional Writing. She then worked in investor relations and corporate communications in the pharmaceutical industry before graduating from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.
